2026. Jira intends to bring order to chaos created by AI agents



There's been a lot of talk lately about that AI agents create more chaos, and therefore more work for humans. Atlassian is introducing a new way for humans and AI agents to collaborate in its Jira project management software, which the company hopes will help teams accomplish "10x more work without 10x more chaos." The new version adds the ability to assign and manage tasks to AI agents from the same dashboard that managers use for their employees. Progress can be tracked, deadlines set, and other metrics can be set in the same way. Users can now even bring AI agents into the middle of an existing project. The update aims to give users the same transparency into the work their agents do as their employees, as well as coordinate activities between humans and agents.


2025. Trello redesign causes outrage among users



Atlassian has introduced an update to its project management service Trello and it was immediately met by users in a sharply negative way. The update introduced a variety of changes to the service interface, for example, it changed the arrangement of all the main interface elements on the page. The fonts and functions of the buttons have also changed - especially in the task card. Many users are sure that the new Trello interface was implemented specially to make it as inconvenient as possible and it's a secret attempt by Atlassian to force them to switch to Jira, which provides similar functionality, but is more expensive. Both services have free plans, but if you consider the paid plans, Jira costs at least $7.53 per user, while Trello costs $5. As a reminder, Atlassian acquired Trello back in 2017.


2016. Worksection adds smart notifications, time-tracker and hotkeys



The popular online project management service Worksection has rolled out a major update. In short, the notification system has been updated (it's now flexible), the ability to use @mention to notify specific employees has been added, hotkeys have been added for all key functions and pages, the ability to specify exact time in task due dates has been added, time tracking for days off and work hours has been added, and the recurring task system has been completely redesigned. The main interfaces have been redesigned: creating projects and tasks, inviting people to a team, task lists, menus, etc., and the ability to bulk add tasks with a hierarchy has been added.


2013. Wrike released enterprise version with advanced analytics and employee monitoring

2013. Wrike integrates with Box



One of the advantages of the well-known project management service Wrike is its extensive functionality for document collaboration. Now, in addition to the existing integrations with Google Drive and Dropbox, a new one has been added – with the equally popular service Box. This allows users to directly attach files from Box to tasks in Wrike and collaborate on them online, while all project documents are conveniently organized in a single workspace. An additional benefit for those who use the mobile versions of Wrike and Box is the ability to attach files to tasks directly from their smartphone.

2012. TeamLab updated its Projects module



Teamlab, a web service for collaborative project, document and client relationship management, is launching an updated version of its Projects module. More flexible configuration options in the Projects module allow you to prioritize work, create subtasks and pause projects. Multiple assignees can now be assigned to each task. Each registered portal user now receives individual access rights for each module. This makes it possible to engage third-party specialists in project work and improves the security of business data stored in the system. More convenient data sorting has been implemented in all lists created using Ajax technology. Users who prefer to retain the familiar design of the service can quickly switch from the new version to the previous one.
