2014. LoadMaster load balancing system integrates with Web application firewall
Kemp L7 WAF (Web Application Firewall/WAF) has integrated with the Kemp Technologies LoadMaster load balancing operating system. This allows companies to securely deploy web applications, preventing Layer-7 attacks while providing essential load balancing services, ensuring proper application delivery performance, availability, and scalability. The ModSecurity WAF engine has been optimized and integrated with the Kemp Technologies ADC (Application Delivery Controller) engine. 2013. Runa Capital invests in web application security system Wallarm
Runa Capital, a venture capital firm, announced an investment in Wallarm, a web application security solution, and that Dmitry Galperin, Runa Capital's Chief Investment Officer, will join the Wallarm project's board of directors. Wallarm is designed for companies whose businesses provide services over the internet. The product combines web application protection from hacker attacks and vulnerability scanning. The company plans to use the seed investment received from Runa Capital for further product development, transition to a product model, and business scaling. To advance its market reach, Wallarm also plans to attract new partners: cloud service providers, PaaS/IaaS solution providers, monitoring systems, and IPS/IDS providers, with the goal of increasing its share of the growing internet security market, which, according to IDC, exceeds $4 billion. Investors estimate that the Wallarm system will be in high demand among companies operating in the e-commerce and online payments, SaaS/PaaS, Big Data, electronic media, and personal communications markets. Wallarm product prices start at $1000 per month.
2013. Fortinet unveiled the next generation of FortiWeb operating system
Fortinet announced the release of a next-generation operating system for its FortiWeb family of web application security appliances. The new FortiWeb 5 OS provides protection against evolving threats and is compatible with all FortiWeb appliances. It offers optimized features, including the ability to determine traffic origins and distinguish legitimate and suspicious sources. FortiWeb can recognize legitimate and known search queries and distinguish them from crawlers, bots, and other threats. This expands the analysis and bot detection capabilities recently offered by the FortiGuard IP Reputation service, which monitors compromised IP addresses or IP addresses with anomalous activity. Along with FortiWeb 5, Fortinet also introduced three new web application firewalls—the FortiWeb-3000D, FortiWeb-3000DFsx, and FortiWeb-4000D—designed for large enterprises, data centers, and service providers that require web application security without degrading network performance.
