2024. WebMoney transfers to euro bank accounts are now available in Estonia

WebMoney wallet owners in Estonia can now transfer funds to a euro bank account (in the SEPA zone). These are WMT cryptocurrency wallets, which allow you to store the USDT stablecoin (or rather, it's pegged to the value of USDT). A formal certificate is required to perform deposits and withdrawals. The system's fee for transactions in WMT is 0.8% of the transaction amount.
2016. WebMoney Merchant now accepts payments in Bitcoin

WebMoney payment system has added support for paying for goods and services with Bitcoin. This feature is available to merchants connected to the WebMoney Merchant. WebMoney has ensured the legal use of Bitcoin in payments by launching X-wallets with WMX title units (1000 WMX = $629 WMZ). When using these wallets, the exchange of Bitcoin for WMX is recorded in the public database bitcoin.org. Merchants whose stores operate on the Digiseller platform were among the first to receive the ability to accept Bitcoin payments. To do this, they need to set up an X-wallet on the Merchant WebMoney service. Cryptocurrency is credited to the merchant's account in WMX title units, which they can then exchange for other types of title units or Bitcoin.

2015. Payment system WebMoney officially launched in Europe

WebMoney has received a European license and begun operating with a new guarantor, which has been granted the right to issue electronic money within the European Union. WME wallets used in the system will now be considered electronic money, fully compliant with EU law. In recent months, as part of its expansion into Europe, the number of wallet refill points has significantly increased, new online stores accepting WebMoney have been connected, and the system's services are being adapted for European users. According to the company, the number of WebMoney Transfer system participants exceeds 29 million. More than 100,000 online stores worldwide accept WebMoney for payments.
2010. WebMoney comes to Azerbaijan

WebMoney payment system has launched direct deposits for WMZ and WME wallets through the offices of the local Bank Standard KB. Previously, Azerbaijani WebMoney users could transfer funds to their accounts in the system only through exchange offices and the dealer network. An agreement between WebMoney Transfer and Bank Standard KB CJSC, the second-largest bank in Azerbaijan, allows local users to deposit funds into their accounts in the system with a commission of 3% of the transaction amount. Previous methods for depositing funds into WM wallets involved an average commission of 5-10% for large amounts. "In the case of, say, a micro-deposit, the commission can increase to 50%," WebMoney representatives explain.
2009. WebMoney introduces recurring payment service

WebMoney has launched the Rebills service, which allows payees to make payments according to a schedule and allows merchants to receive recurring payments. Based on the specified settings, users can receive invoices, payment reminders, or set up automatic debits to selected providers. WebMoney Transfer offers merchants a choice of two connection options. The "Light" option does not link recurring payments to accounts in the internal billing system, while the "Full" option allows for maximum flexibility in cash flow accounting.
2009. WebMoney launched European currency with guarantor in Latvia

2009. WebMoney annual turnover exceeded $6 billion

WebMoney has reported that the number of users in the system has already exceeded 7 million. For comparison, at the end of 2007, there were 4.5 million users. The number of transactions has also increased. In 2008, more than 72 million transactions were processed through the system, which amounts to more than 6.5 billion dollars. Compared with 2007, turnover has doubled, and the number of transactions has increased more than 2.5 times. Last year, WebMoney introduced several new services for its users. 2006. Georgia has lost WebMoney
The National Bank of Georgia revoked the license of the Georgian commercial bank Tbilbusinessbank, where a WebMoney office is located. The first and only WM deposit and withdrawal point opened in Tbilisi at Tbilbusinessbank in the spring. However, it was not listed on WebMoney Geo's lists. This suggests that it was practically inactive, as the system's client "entry channel" is primarily online. According to WebMoney Geo, there are currently no WM wallet top-up points, exchange offices, or WM card sales outlets in Georgia. The number of certified users of the system in the country is 856.
