2024. SugarCRM named one of the best CRM systems for mid-sized business

Despite its move away from open-source and toward commercialization, SugarCRM is doing quite well. It was recently named one of the best CRM systems for mid-sized businesses by Constellation Research. Constellation selected eight leading CRM vendors for this list, based on customer reviews, partner recommendations, use cases, market share, and its own research. The company's products—Sugar Sell, sales-i, Market, and Serve—form the core of its CRM system, which integrates all aspects of customer management. Powered by artificial intelligence and easy-to-use interfaces, this platform helps eliminate silos within the company and ensures seamless collaboration across all employees. All users have access to unified data, helping them anticipate and better meet customer needs. Constellation Research advises executives on implementing cutting-edge technologies to transform business models and optimize processes.

2020. SugarCRM acquired sales forecasting startup Node.AI

The developer of the open-source SugarCRM system has acquired the artificial intelligence startup Node.AI, which uses CRM data and external sources to improve the predictability of business metrics. The acquisition is intended to enhance the SugarCRM CX platform and enable users to accurately forecast sales and expenses. Using AI, SugarCRM will be able to leverage data that companies haven't yet organized and identify patterns they otherwise wouldn't have been able to detect. It can then create a detailed picture of customer segmentation.

2015. SugarCRM can now parse information from third-party websites

If your business involves constantly searching for information on classifieds/freelance websites (for example, in a real estate agency), the Parsing for SugarCRM module from SugarTalk can help automate this process. The module works like this: The user selects the website from which they want to track ads, and the developer provides them with a parser. In their CRM, the user specifies the parameters by which new ads should be tracked. New property cards, created based on the ads, appear in the CRM system (see the figure). A CRM parser can also be useful for a recruiting agency (for creating new vacancies and resumes), a modeling agency (new model cards), or a design/copywriting/website creation studio (for finding new freelance orders).

2014. SugarCRM integrated with Lotus Notes

SugarCRM has released a plug-in for integrating its latest version of the Sugar 7 CRM system with the Lotus Notes collaboration and document management system. The new CRM plug-in features: seamless integration into the Lotus Notes client; integration of the Lotus Notes email client and address book with the Sugar CRM system; maintaining a unified calendar in Lotus Notes with automatic synchronization of events to the CRM system calendar; and two-way integration of tasks and activities with the ability to link to contacts, counterparties, and sales in the CRM system directly from Lotus Notes. Despite its extensive functionality, the plug-in for integrating the Sugar 7 CRM system with Lotus Notes is included at no additional charge as part of the basic license subscription. All Sugar CRM users can download the plug-in via the Download Manager.
