2020. Hancom Group rebrands ThinkFree as Hancom Office

South Korea's Hancom Group has renamed its ThinkFree Office to Hancom Office. It's a proprietary office suite written in Java and C++ that runs on Windows, Linux, Macintosh, Android and iOS platforms. It also includes Online version which was the first MS-compatible web-based online office in the world. The suite of applications consists of word processing software (Word), spreadsheet software (Cell) and presentation graphics software (Show). Besides there is Hancom Space which provides a full-featured suite of office productivity tools in a modern collaboration space for enhanced team effectiveness. You can create and share documents conveniently from a desktop, mobile device, or web browser, work together on documents stored in the cloud, combine cloud storage services and manage them from one place.
2009. ThinkFree released online viewer - takes on Scribd and Docstoc

ThinkFree, an online office suite, always positioned itself as an online alternative to MS Office. But with the advent of Google Docs and Zoho Docs, this niche became crowded, and ThinkFree decided to take a different path. Specifically, through services like Scribd, Docstoc, and SlideShare. ThinkFree has developed a Flash-based online document viewer that can be embedded anywhere and render standard documents such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF. The reader can view and search the document without having to download it to their computer. Unlike the aforementioned competitors, ThinkFree allows editing published documents in its online editors, with all changes instantly reflected in the published version. In addition to the ability to publish documents anywhere, ThinkFree offers its own public document catalog, which helps attract additional visitors. However, this catalog is still significantly smaller than its competitors, and ThinkFree's viewer isn't yet as functional.
2007. ThinkFree joins forces with EditGrid

So far, only formally, but soon the EditGrid spreadsheets will be integrated into the ThinkFree virtual office and will replace the existing Quick Edit Calc application. Let me remind you that EditGrid is an Excel-like application that works better than Google Spreadsheets and allows you to collaborate on documents in real time and simultaneously import external sources, such as stock quotes, into spreadsheets. In addition to integrating with a truly great application, ThinkFree hopes to expand its presence in the Chinese market (EditGrid is developed by a company from Hong Kong).
