2024. New video conferencing hub Yealink MeetingEye 500

The discontinuation of the flagship Yealink M800 terminal is being compensated by the vendor with the release of the new Yealink M500 terminal. At first glance, given the identical form factor and similar functionality, this appears to be a replacement in the model line. However, upon examining the specifications and model index, it becomes clear that the M500 is more in line with the status of the entry-level model. The terminal is designed as a standalone device and can be installed either on a shelf/desktop or in a wiring closet. The M500 does not have built-in microphones and a camera like the entry-level models and is designed for use in large meeting rooms using external audio peripherals and pan-tilt video conferencing cameras with high optical zoom. The MeetingEye 500 terminal, if necessary, integrates seamlessly into existing infrastructure and connects to the acoustic and microphone systems available in the meeting room.
2006. Polycom VSX 6000 – compact video conferencing system for IP networks

The Polycom VSX 6000 is an affordable entry-level system with the key features of high-end endpoints. The endpoint supports the H.264 video standard and Polycom Siren 14 audio technology. The VSX 6000 system is equipped with a built-in high-quality PTZ camera and speakers, and can be expanded with additional hardware and software options. The VSX 6000 video codec is ideal for IP networking in small meeting rooms and provides high-quality video communications. The system defaults to the H.264 protocol, but switches to H.263 if needed, ensuring the best video quality. The VSX 6000 system is equipped with an integrated high-quality PTZ camera, easily controlled with an IR remote control. The endpoint also features built-in speakers that deliver high-quality, clear sound using Polycom Siren 14 audio technology.
2005. Sony released new devices for video conferencing

Sony has announced two new videoconferencing terminals in the new IPELA series: PCS-G50P group system and PCS-TL30P personal desktop system. The PCS-G50P is a simplified and attractively priced version of the multifunctional PCS-G70NP endpoint, differing only in that it lacks the ability to connect a second controlled camera and display participants on separate monitors in MCU mode. All other features of the PCS-G70NP, including 4CIF 704*576 video transmission, 30 fps, 6-port MCU transcoding, and more, are fully supported in the new PCS-G50P. Furthermore, the new software version of both systems supports videoconferencing recording to Sony Memory Stick memory cards in MPEG format.
