2019. PayPal launches peer-to-peer payments in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia

PayPal is adding a peer-to-peer payment service to 25 European countries, including Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. This service offers a solution for users who need to make or receive payments. "Our new service allows you to make mobile and desktop payments in euros, including to friends and family in the EU, at no additional cost, unless it involves currency conversion. No account number is required; an email address is sufficient," said Olga Lonshakova, Head of Sales and Market Development for PayPal in the Baltics and Russia.

Latvian residents are the first in the EU to be able to use the Qiwi Wallet Europe e-wallet to make payments to thousands of goods and services providers. The European version of Qiwi Wallet is designed for Android and iOS platforms and is available for download from Google Play and the App Store, respectively. Qiwi Wallet Europe is available in three languages: Latvian, Russian, and English. All payment transactions, including top-ups and transfers between users, are denominated in euros.
