2023. Merit Aktiva added new VAT rates and a VAT declaration form

As of January 1, 2024, the standard VAT rate in Estonia is 22% instead of the previous 20%. New VAT rates and VAT declaration form have been added to the popular accounting program Merit Aktiva. VAT rates can be changed by each user at their convenience in the lists of product items in the sales, purchases, inventory, recurring invoices, chart of accounts, and fixed asset groups menus. After changing the VAT rate, a 22% VAT rate is automatically suggested when entering a new document, but you can select 20% if necessary. The amounts in recurring invoices will be recalculated when the VAT rate is changed. Therefore, change the VAT rate on recurring invoices only after all sales invoices for 2023 have been created. The program will recalculate the amounts in recurring invoices when the VAT rate is changed. In the chart of accounts, changing the VAT rate does not change the names of accounting accounts.
