HRM vendor Workday acquired contractor management platform developer VNDLY for $510 million. Prior to the deal, VNDLY already had certified integrations with Workday Financial Management and Workday Human Capital Management. The deal with VNDLY will allow Workday to unify its tools for managing salaried, hourly, and temporary workers. Specifically, both companies will have a unified accounting system for managing clients' entire workforces, and will be able to optimize costs and staffing. Workday's long-term partnership with VNDLY includes the creation of a system to ensure a seamless process for receiving and processing applications, performance reports, onboarding, invoicing, and payroll.
Microsoft acquired OKR software Ally.io

Following the acquisition, the startup will become part of the Microsoft Viva project, which is developing the employee experience platform of the same name. This cloud-based offering enables companies to transition from traditional, disjointed planning and execution to a modern, goals- and key results-based system that ensures strong alignment, flexibility, transparency, and empowers employees.
Microsoft unveiled tool for evaluating remote employee performance

Microsoft has released a new tool, Productivity Score, to help managers determine whether remote employees are productive. It can be found in Microsoft 365, in "Work Analytics." The tool collects behavioral data for each user of their package across 73 metrics. And at the end of each month, it provides managers with an analysis of the quality of their work. Among other things, the collected information includes: whether the employee regularly turns on the webcam during online meetings; how often they send emails; how often the employee adds comments to shared documents or group chats; and how many days they used Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Skype in the last month. Your score can be compared with other companies. There is also a "Recommended Actions" tab, which contains tips on how to train employees to use Microsoft 365 products better to increase productivity.
Microsoft implements SAP SuccessFactors to manage 114K employees

Microsoft is implementing the cloud-based talent management system SAP SuccessFactors within its company. With this solution, Microsoft plans to increase employee productivity and engagement through mobile and cloud technologies. By the end of November 2016, Microsoft employed approximately 114,000 people. According to Mike Ettling, President of SAP SuccessFactors, Microsoft understands the potential of digital transformation and cloud services to simplify HR management. This process is becoming increasingly complex, especially for large international companies that must address hundreds of legal and regulatory requirements, Ettling noted. By implementing SAP SuccessFactors, Microsoft continued its collaboration with the German company. In October 2016, SAP selected the Microsoft Azure platform as the primary cloud service for SuccessFactors solutions.
